Data backup is a necessity for every business. There are several possibilities of loss of data due to hardware failure or server crashing which can result in huge losses to a business. Data loss is not restricted to businesses. It could happen to any individual and all the data like personal information, photos, music, files etc. can be lost permanently requiring you to start all over again. Data loss can also be caused due to natural calamities like floods, fire or disasters like theft. There are two ways data backup can be done. One is on-site requiring you to buy external devices to copy the data which again are prone to wear and tear. You will need to keep them in safe place and increases hardware expenditure. Technology has made it convenient and affordable with the offsite backup solutions. The files are encrypted and transferred on to servers that are located away from the business premises. The data can be retrieved on demand and business continuity is never disturbed even if disasters occur at the premises. It is a safe and secure way and reduces the burden on the in-house computers and saves space too. It does require the client to do any maintenance of servers too.
