Cloud hosting solutions are offered in three models. 1. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): The providers offer virtualized hardware infrastructure and equipment such as cloud storage, servers, networking and additional facilities like load balancers and CDNs (content delivery networks). You can take the computing services on hire on a pay-as-you-go billing model. Using the virtual hardware infrastructure, you have the choice to install any software applications that you want while you build your applications. 2. Platform as a Service (PaaS): PaaS providers offer a platform for the developers to build their applications and services over the internet. The tools they offer include operating systems, database management services, server software, server script, storage, hosting, designing and many similar that enables the developers to subscribe to what they want, pay for services they consumed and eliminates the need for them to invest in expensive hardware infrastructure. 3. Software as a Service(SaaS): SaaS is a cloud hosting solution that enables consumers to use software applications on any internet connected device. The services offered are vast and cater to the differing needs of the users. The advantages include nil investment on infrastructure and its maintenance, access from anywhere and on any compatible device, scalability and easy billing model. |
