The Debian is a free operating system, which is the set of basic programs and utilities making your computer run in a smooth manner. It encompasses over 37500 packages precompiled software bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your machine. This particular system is being developed by an internet collaboration of volunteers aligned with The Debian Project. At the core of an operating system, kernel is a primary program that does all the housekeeping and lets you start other programs.
Debian systems currently use either of the programs including Linux Kernel, FreeBSD kernel and GNU Hurd kernel. Each release of the Debian is generally compatible with a large number of computer models including the oldest ones too.
