The DNS deciphers Internet domain and host names to IP addresses. It mechanically translates the names that the end-user types in the address bar of the web browser to the IP addresses of web servers hosting those websites.

DNS executes a distributed database to save and store the information about the name and address of all public hosts on the Internet. DNS undertakes IP addresses do not change (are statically assigned rather than dynamically assigned). Computers and all other handheld devices on the Internet use an IP address to direct their request to the website the web visitor is trying to visit.

Some of the key benefits of Domain Name System (DNS) are:

- Highly Reliable: It promptly delivers messages to the end-users and reduces the chances of downtime to a great extent.

- Faster: DNS are linked well at intersections of internet. Hence, the requests are answered to the subsequently adjacent node in the events of maintenance or downtime.

- Smarter: Automatically corrects the typing mistakes.
